iPLUG: IP Based Platform For Mulitple Services on Optical Link

    Same as Exartech TDM (Time Division Multiplexer) based FOM (Fiber Optical Multiplexer) products- Fox. iPlug provides two fiber optical interfaces (100M) for up-link; these two fiber optical interface provide 1+1 protection functionality. Higher up-link bandwidth (such as 1,000M) will be developed in the future for customer requirements. iPlug is an IP (packet) based platform with flexible plug-in modules, including T1, E1, V.35, xDSL (Digital Subscriber Line) and 10/100M Ethernet interface. It extends customer different interfaces and combine multiple services, such as voice, data and video triple play service. Based on easy to maintain design concept, all modules are hot swappable without any interruption to traffic when plugging in or move out. And, it provides lower cost and more flexible bandwidth utilization than traditional TDM and ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) transmission method. An SNMP based network management system (NMS), local craft terminal (LCT) via RS-232, LED and alarm contact are used as OAM&P (Operation, Administration, Management and Provision) function for maintenance and management personnel.
