Eddy:
New Generation Digital Loop Carrier
Eddy is an advanced access
product, which could provide
diverse service cards for
different applications. It
provides the interface
between CPE (such as
telephone, computer, etc.)
and exchange side equipment
(such as switch). It
provides interfacing,
management and time slot
cross-connect
functionalities, including
TSI, TSA, concentration,
dynamic time slot
allocation, etc. With its
multiple service cards and
flexible design, it can also
support MSAN (Multi-Service
Access Node) application
effectively.
Unified network management
system (NMS), local craft
terminal (LCT) via RS-232,
LED and alarm contact are
used as Operation,
Administration, Maintenance
and Provision (OAM&P)
interfaces for maintenance
and management personnel.
Service provider may provide
service to the subscribers
easily and efficiently by
using this platform.
Eddy supports up to 16
slots for LS (Low Speed)
cards, one MPU (Main
Processing Unit) and two HS
(High Speed) cards at
maximum. HS cards can be
redundant or non-redundant.
